Searching online for plans with children usually ends the same way: hundreds of results, photos that all look alike and the nagging question of whether it will work with a one-year-old or with a teenager who is long past paddling pools. At Mundo Traveler we have chosen the opposite approach. We are not trying to show you everything; we want to help you find what is truly worth enjoying as a family.
What the seal means
“Selected by MundoBebé” is an editorial choice made by our team. It is given to destinations, experiences, places to stay, restaurants, itineraries, books and products that we have reviewed and would recommend to our own family. To be clear: it is not a certification or a safety guarantee. It is judgement, experience and a love of travelling together.
What we look for in a hotel
When it comes to accommodation we focus on what really changes a holiday with children: clubs by age, pools designed for them, rooms where the whole family fits, cots and a calm beach nearby. One example: the Elba Sara Beach & Golf Resort, in Caleta de Fuste, offers a Baby Kit with cot, high chair and bottle warmer. For families who like more independence, we value apartments with kitchens, such as Anfi del Mar, with direct access to its beach. See our full list of family hotels in the Canary Islands.
What we look for in a restaurant
At the table, practical details matter as much as good food: high chairs, kids’ menus, a terrace and room for the pushchair. We love places where lunch is an experience in itself, such as El Diablo, in the heart of Timanfaya National Park, which grills food using the volcano’s natural heat and has high chairs and a kids’ menu, or the Castillo de San José restaurant, inside an 18th-century fortress above the bay of Arrecife, with a children’s section on the menu.
What we look for in an experience
Every experience shows the recommended age, duration and season, and we flag any restrictions. The Teide Cable Car, for instance, is not suitable for children under three because of the altitude, and Submarine Safaris Lanzarote does not take children under two. We also tell you when a plan is free for little ones, like Jameos del Agua for under-sevens.
And in an itinerary
Our itineraries combine places, experiences, restaurants, rest and transfers according to the children’s ages. There are versions for the whole family, for children and for babies, from one to seven days, so the trip arrives already planned and all you have to do is enjoy it.
If you know a place that deserves to be in our selection, write to us at hola@mundobebetraveler.com. We will look at it with the same eyes we use for everything else.
